GINERNET Manager

Welcome to the Manager: how to sign in, where your services are and how they are paid

· View as Markdown

The Manager (manager.ginernet.com) is the panel where you manage and pay for your GINERNET services, and it replaces the old client area (cli.ginernet.com). This article is the starting point: how to sign in, how payment works and where everything is. At the end you will find a guide for each type of service.

The most important thing first: your services are exactly where they were. Same server, same IP, same DNS, same cPanel, same email and same files. Your website keeps working without you doing anything. What changes is the panel you manage them from and the way you pay for them.

First time in the Manager? Create your password first. Your account has already been created with your email, but without a password, so your client area password will not work. Request a new one at manager.ginernet.com/forgot-password: enter your email and we will send you a link to create it. The step-by-step instructions are below.

What is managed in the Manager

Service How it is paid
cPanel hosting and Multidomain Hosting (WHM) From your Manager balance, per hour
Domains From your Manager balance, on renewal (30 days before expiry)
Cloud VPS and additional IPs From your Manager balance, per hour
Legacy VPS (ordered before the panel change) Shown in the Manager, but still paid at cli.ginernet.com until you convert them to Cloud

Signing in for the first time

Your Manager account has been created with the account holder's email you had in the client area, but without a password: your client area password does not work here. To sign in for the first time, request a new password:

  1. Open manager.ginernet.com/forgot-password. It is the same page you reach by clicking Forgot your password? on the sign-in screen.
  2. Enter your email and click Send link.
  3. Open the email we send you and follow the link to choose your password. The email talks about recovering access: that is expected, it is the same procedure. The link expires in 1 hour and can only be used once; if it expires, just request a new one.
  4. Sign in at manager.ginernet.com with your email and your new password.

If the email does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder and make sure you entered the same email you used in the client area. If it still does not arrive, contact us.

If you already used the Manager (for example, because you have a VPS), you do not need to do any of this: your services appear in your usual account.

We have only created access for the account holder. If other people had access in the client area (your webmaster, an agency, a colleague), invite them from Accesses. We explain how in Granting access to your account.

Verify your account within 7 days

The Manager asks for a simple verification: a selfie of a few seconds or an SMS code, no documents. You have 7 days from your first sign-in to complete it. If the deadline passes without verifying, the panel will only show you the verification screen until you complete it. You also get a small balance bonus when you verify. All the details are in Account verification.

How payment works: prepaid balance

In the Manager there are no renewal invoices to pay every month or year. It works like a prepaid card:

  • You top up balance from Billing, Balance tab, Add funds button (from 10 €). You pay by card, and the card is saved for your next top-ups.
  • Your services are charged from that balance: hosting and Cloud VPS every hour; domains when they are due for renewal.
  • We email you when, at the spending rate of your services, your balance has 10, 7, 5, 3, 2 and 1 days left, and a few hours before it runs out.
  • An invoice is issued with every top-up. You can download it from Billing, Payments tab, under My orders.
  • In Billing, Ledger tab, you can see what your balance has been spent on, service by service.

Turn on auto top-up and stop worrying about your balance: when it drops below the amount you choose, it tops up automatically with your card. You set it up in Billing, Balance tab. First you need a saved card marked as default (Payments tab) and your fiscal contact marked with Use for auto top-up (Fiscal data tab).

Offers and discounts are applied when you top up, as bonuses that give you extra balance. You will find them on the Manager home page and redeem them when you create the top-up.

If your balance runs out, hosting and Cloud VPS are suspended until you top up, and if they stay suspended they are deleted after 15 days. Domains are not suspended, but they are not renewed without balance. Keep some margin or turn on auto top-up.

If you came from the client area (cli.ginernet.com)

If your hosting, Multidomain Hosting or domains were in the client area, they are now in the Manager. This is what happened to what you had already paid for:

  • Hosting and Multidomain Hosting: the time you had already paid for and not yet used has been credited to you as balance. That balance pays for the hosting hour by hour.
  • Domains: they keep their expiry date, which was already paid, and auto-renewal stays as you had it. No balance is credited for them: the next renewal will be charged from your balance 30 days before expiry.
  • Pending invoices: unpaid invoices for those services in the client area have been cancelled. You do not need to pay them.
  • Price: from the move onwards, the current Manager rate applies, which you can see on each service's page. If you paid yearly with a discount in the client area, the credited balance may cover fewer days than you had left there. Check your balance and top up in good time.
  • History: your previous invoices are still available at cli.ginernet.com.

If you also have Legacy VPS, those do not change: they are still paid in the client area as always. We explain it in the VPS guide.
